For Danish shareholders, 2023 could not have come soon enough.
With the war in Ukraine, huge inflation and some big jumps in interest rates, the C25 index had a very difficult year in 2022.
“All in all, it has created the worst investment year since the financial crisis in 2008 and 2009, when all asset classes have been hit – with just one exception,” says Brian Kudsk, CEO of Artha Asset Management, to Børsen.
However, not the only country
In 2022, the C25 index fell 13.5 percent over the year, including a 0.7 percent plunge on the last trading day of the year.
But overall, stocks fell across the world, with benchmark indices leading the way.
The S&P 500, for example, ended the year down 19.4 percent.
