Up to a Cavling
Danish media organizations condemned Ukraine for stripping Kimer of her press credentials, and Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen raised the issue with his Ukrainian colleague Dmytro Kuleba.
Kimer has been nominated for the prestigious Cavling award this year by the Journalistsforbundet, the country’s journalists’ association, for his coverage of the war in Ukraine.
“In 2022 alone, she has reported from Moscow, Kyiv, Kharkiv, Kramatorsk, Bakhmut, Novoluhanske, Konstantinovka, Sieverodonetsk, Izyum, Kirovograd, Dnipro, Kursk, Slovyansk, Odessa, Mykolaiv, Lysytyansk, Moldova and Istanbul,” wrote the Journalistforbundet.
“Kimer has delivered over 150 live transmissions to DR Nyheder, Horisont and 21 Søndag. She has delivered 85 unique features for Radioavisen and 70 special features for P1’s Orientering and P1 Morgen.”
The winner of the Cavling Award will be revealed in a few days.
