Offering a vibrant food culture, cafe culture and unique products, the city is also a magical gateway to a wonderful and unique archipelago consisting of 40,000 islands and islets.
“For the first time since we started organizing our MICHELIN Guide events in the Nordic countries, we have chosen Finland and the beautiful city of Turku as the host of the annual award ceremony. This is a true recognition of local and national food culture and heritage, and the perfect setting to celebrate the richness and boldness of all Nordic gastronomy,” said Gwendal PoullennecInternational Director of MICHELIN Guides
The event organized with the support and partnership of the City of Turku and Business Finland will take place at the Logomo venue. It brings together chefs and restaurant and catering industry professionals from all over the Nordic countries. In addition to the coveted MICHELIN Stars and MICHELIN Green Stars, special professional awards are also announced.
“The food culture of Turku is a nationally and internationally recognized factor that increases the vitality of our province and attracts both local residents of the area and tourists, whom we have always been happy to welcome,” said Minna Arve, Mayor of Turku. “By hosting the MICHELIN Guide launch event, which is one of the largest gastronomic events in the region, we are happy to step into the spotlight as a top destination for Nordic gastronomy and present Finnish and Turku food culture to a truly significant group of guests.”
In order for everyone to know the news at the same time as the MICHELIN Guide invitees, the MICHELIN Guide Nordic Countries 2023 publication will be broadcast live via the MICHELIN Guide YouTube channel.
The new selection can be found later on the MICHELIN Guide website and mobile application, which shows restaurants and hotels recommended by the MICHELIN Guide.
