“Ninety percent of tweets related to the coronavirus are highly inappropriate, and people are also engaging in other conversations with disinformation,” he said. “It’s been an attractive platform for spreading disinformation from the start. Lots of links to it [disinformation] shared in conversations.”
According to him, the situation got worse during the coronavirus pandemic, especially when the institute tweeted about the virus and vaccines – so much so that it is difficult to get a conversation out of the answers.
THL, which has almost 100,000 followers on Twitter, sent possibly the last tweet from its official account before Christmas.

Although THL has temporarily suspended its official account, it continues to communicate on the platform through project and employee accounts, according to the public broadcasting company. However, as an organization it focuses on other social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn.
According to Helsingin Sanomat, the institute is presumably the first Finnish authority to leave Twitter.
