NEW YORK, Jan. 17 (Xinhua) — The U.S. dollar edged lower in late trading on Tuesday, amid momentum in the British pound.
The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, fell 0.1 percent to 102.3770.
In late New York trading, the euro was down to US$1.0794 from US$1.0820 in the previous session, and the British pound rose to US$1.2278 from US$1.2196 in the previous session.
The US dollar bought 128.30 Japanese yen, down from 128.55 Japanese yen from the previous session. The US dollar fell to 0.9219 Swiss francs from 0.9266 Swiss francs and it fell to 1.3381 Canadian dollars from 1.3403 Canadian dollars. The US dollar weakened to SEK 10.4095 from SEK 10.4291.
