The study also highlights the importance of social networks in helping international talents in their job search, as every fourth employed person or job seeker receives job information from friends. In addition, families of foreign talent have adaptation challenges, of which 67% find it difficult to adapt to Finnish life due to job search challenges. The report recommends that employers should consider relaxing the language requirements for some positions and support families of foreign talents.
The survey included 2,500 international talents, including expatriate Finns, foreigners returning to Finland, foreigners living, working or looking for work in Finland, foreigners who moved to Finland because of their spouse or partner, and foreigners completing a university degree in Finland.
