On Monday, October 2, 2023, a 15-year-old disappears in Alingsås. The next day, his father reports him missing and a large search operation begins. Several people are arrested on suspicion of kidnapping and divers are searching the Säveån, which winds through the city.
On Sunday, police and prosecutors announce that they suspect the boy is dead. A 16-year-old, who until then had been suspected of kidnapping, is being held for murder. He has said he met the 15-year-old on the night he disappeared from his home, but denies any wrongdoing. A few hours later, the 15-year-old is found dead.
