More needs to be done to reduce the number of suicides in traffic, the Swedish Transport Administration believes. Every year, more than 100 people take their lives in traffic, including in railways and subways.
The Swedish Transport Administration will now, together with Karolinska Institutet and the Stockholm Region, produce data on how suicide in traffic can be prevented.
These may include more fences at railways, platform doors on train platforms and jump protection at bridges.
