Researchers from Vive, the National Research and Analysis Center for Welfare, have examined kindergarten leaders’ views on the reopening.
The leaders of 110 kindergartens from a total of 58 municipalities have answered a questionnaire about their experiences with the different everyday life in the reopening after the corona period in the spring of 2020.
Here is a selection of the results:
* 69 percent indicate that children’s well-being is affected “positively” or “very positively”. 29 per cent assess that well-being has not been affected, while 2 per cent assess that it has been negatively affected.
* Kindergarten leaders also assess that children’s social relationships are affected “positively” (49 percent) or “very positively” (18 percent). 8 percent assess that the relationships are negatively affected.
* For the staff, the experience is more mixed if you ask the managers. 44 percent of managers assess that job satisfaction in the staff group is affected “positively” or “very positively”. 39 percent answer that it is not affected, while 17 percent answer that job satisfaction is negatively affected.
* The leaders also have the answer to what positive experiences from the reopening they will hold on to in the future. These include:
* Smaller groups of children.
* Mom and Dad have to say goodbye at the gate.
* Increased focus on hygiene.
* The study is not representative, but should provide an insight into the experiences of a wide range of kindergartens.
