Die Arbeitslosigkeit stieg um fast 50,000 pro Jahr

According to Statistics Finland, Finland’s unemployment rate was 7.7 per cent in July, up from 6 per cent a year earlier.

This means that there were about 47,000 more people out of the labor force in July compared to the corresponding month in 2019. However, unemployment fell by 30,000 compared to the June figure.

According to Statistics Finland, there were a total of 216,000 unemployed. At that time, the Ministry of Employment and the Economy registered about 387,500 unemployed jobseekers, which is 116,000 more than a year earlier.

The National Statistics Office conducts a monthly labor force survey to determine the unemployment rate, ie its figures differ from those used by the Ministry of Employment and the Economy.

The survey method is used by similar agencies in different countries, making the figure comparable to that published by similar foreign agencies.

Wrecked workers are included in the ministry’s numbers because they have to register to receive income-related unemployment benefits. Labor Force Survey statistics include only those who have been looking for work last month and are ready to start a new job in the next week.
