The multi-million euro e-commerce director was sentenced on Thursday to 13 years in prison for several aggravated drug offenses.
The man had started selling drugs on the dark Silk Road site or on Silk Road in 2014.
His main partner was sentenced to six years and six months in prison for several drug offenses.
Several other individuals involved in the sale and distribution of drugs also received prison sentences and fines. A total of about 20 people were suspected of the case.
The suspects had bought drugs from abroad and cultivated cannabis at the Porvoo industrial plant. Medicines worth up to EUR 100,000 had been purchased at a time.
In the summer of 2020, customs seized nearly 19,000 ecstasy tablets and other drugs in connection with the incident. According to customs, the total street value of the seized drugs is about 400,000 euros.
Police launched thousands of criminal investigations into suspected drug offenses committed at the drug-selling dark Silkkitie site or Silk Road, which was seized by officials in 2019.
